Health at Tanzania
As long as you take the vaccinations and basic preventive measures, you are unlikely to suffer to most of the possible health hazards. Tanzania has an impressive selection of tropical diseases on offer; it’s more likely you will get a bout of diarrhoea or a cold.
Before you go:
- Get a check-up from your doctor if you have any medication or chronic illness, such as high blood pressure or asthma.
- Organise spare contact lenses and glasses.
- A pair of Sunglasses used to avoid dust.
- Get a first aid and medical kit together.
Regardless of destination, WHO recommends all travellers be covered for the following?
- Diphtheria
- Mumps
- Hepatitis B
Vaccinations recommended for Tanzania:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Rabies
- Typhoid
- Boosters for Tetanus, diphtheria and measles.
- Yellow fever certificate.
