Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Recommended Accommodation in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Settle into your accommodation, ready to start your safari proper in the morning.
After breakfast you drive to Arusha National Park for morning game drive with picnic lunch. This is one of the smaller national parks in Tanzania, but it has a rich variety of wildlife and landscapes. From the swampy Ngurdoto Crater and alkaline lakes to dense jungle and the towering peaks of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. In the afternoon you go on a 2-hours forest hike on the base of Mount Meru to the Tululusia waterfall. Apart from the amazing view of this mountain from the park, it is also the best place to view the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. In the late afternoon return to Recommended Accommodation for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will drive to Mto wa mbu town on the floor of the great rift valley, for a guided village tour. In a small but very busy town where people belonging to all 120 tribes in Tanzania live together, you will have the opportunity to see the typical daily life of Tanzanians. Your walking guide who comes from that area will take you to rice and banana plantations where you will interact with the people working in their farms, you will visit a traditional beer bar/factory, you will visit a school and carvings factory where the famous “Makonde” use ebony black wood to carve different statues. You will then continue to Lake Manyara national park for a game drive with picnic lunch. This beautiful park with its lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees takes its name from the Maasai word for “euphorbia tirucalli”, a bush which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their cattle. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippos. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an “Acacia tortilis” tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills, and plenty of forest species. In the late afternoon continue your drive to Recommended Accommodation for dinner. After dinner, you return to lake Manyara national park for a night game drive. Discover nocturnal animals like porcupines, pangolin, aardvark and others, then return to your lodge for overnight.
Today you go on a morning and afternoon game drive in the famous Serengeti National Park. If you want to spot the Big Five – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo- all in one park, the Serengeti is one of the best places to do so. The abundance of wildlife in this park is unmatched anywhere else in Africa. Depending on which time of the year you visit this park, you can also witness the Great Migration. It’s an impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by iconic predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. Late in the afternoon, you return to Recommended Accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Another day of morning and afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti. With so many wildebeest, gazelles and zebras present it is no wonder the Serengeti is also home to 4,000 lions and 1,000 leopards. Apart from the Big Five the Serengeti boasts the cheetah, jackal, hyena, serval, aardvark, pangolin, porcupine, crocodiles, giraffe, python, black mamba, spitting cobra, ostrich, martial eagle, lovebirds, and vultures, just to name a few. Enjoy this supreme game viewing and return to Recommended Accommodation in the evening. After taking a hot shower you will meet your guide at the fireplace for a cold Serengeti beer or a glass of wine as he gives you a short history of Tanzania. Dinner and overnight will be at Recommended Accommodation.
After early breakfast you will collect picnic lunch and drive to the Olduvai gorge. This is the place where Dr. Leakey and his wife Mary Leakey found a fossil of a hominid. You will then visit the shifting sand (a dune of magnetic volcanic sand that changes its location every year). Later you will continue to Ngorongoro crater rim for a hiking on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater with an armed ranger/guide. This hiking is a great opportunity for you to enjoy seeing the wildlife in the distance while out of the car, see different plants with their medicinal uses and animal tracks. It feels nice also stretching yourselves after several days of seating in the vehicle. In the late afternoon you will continue to Recommended Accommodation for dinner and overnight. This lodge is located at the highest point on the Ngorongoro Crater’s rim and offers great views across the enormous crater.
Today you set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater for your last game drive. It shelters close to 30.000 animals including the Big Five. The crater teems with zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and a small population of the rare black rhino. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater almost surreal. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. In the late afternoon you drive to Recommended Accommodation for dinner and overnight.
This day will be full of culture, with interesting encounters with a local tribe. After breakfast, you drive to the Hadzabe Bushmen. This tribe hunts on wild animals with bow and arrows, eating roots, honey and wild fruits. You can join the Bushman on a hunting and gathering trip. Walk-behind them and see how they shoot their animals by using bows and arrows, then see how they skin them, roast them and eat. After this fascinating experience and lunch at the lodge, you drive to Monduli Juu. A Maasai guide welcomes you and leads you around a Maasai village where he introduces you to family members. You can communicate with them, see how they cook and dance, and get a real insight into the way of life of the Maasai. After dinner, the chief of the village will explain their culture and traditions and you can also share your stories with him. You can spend here the night (we will provide some bedding for you if you sleep in the Recommended Accommodation). It’s also possible to sleep at the nearby Recommended Accommodation for overnight.
Early wake up today to milk the cows with the Maasai ladies. After breakfast, you go fetch water with the ladies and learn how they carry the water buckets on their heads. Later you visit a traditional Maasai doctor and experience how he uses plants to cure different diseases, then drives to Recommended Accommodation for lunch and a short siesta. In the afternoon you will visit mama Chris home and join her to prepare your dinner. Today you will participate in preparing your dinner (great opportunity to learn about African cuisine). After your dinner with this Tanzanian modern family, you will be transferred to Recommended Accommodation for diner and overnight. After lunch, you drive to a local market in Arusha to buy some food that you can eat today. The owners of a Home Stay welcome you later this day. There is time for a shower and a little rest. During dinner time you can interact with this family and prepare dinner together. This is a great opportunity to learn about cooking African dishes. Dinner and overnight will be at a Home Stay. We choose a safe and clean homestay for you.
This is the last morning you spend with the family. After lunch you head off to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Next Paradise Boutique Resort for dinner and overnight in a Recommended Accommodation.
Explore the lively Stone Town today – the cultural and historical heart of Zanzibar. It is a fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways that are a joy to explore. Discover the architectural gems, tasteful restaurants, churches, markets and gardens. There are plenty of interesting places to visit on a cultural tour, like the House of Wonders, Darajani market place, Sultan’s Palace, and the Slave Market. The mix of Arab, Persian, Indian and European influences makes Stone Town absolutely unique. In the afternoon you go on a boat trip to visit Prison Island. This island was once used as a place where slaves were detained and later it functioned as a camp where people with deadly diseases were sent. Today the island is a nature reserve for giant tortoises and a place to see the ruins that once functioned as the prison. Dinner and overnight will be at Recommended Accommodation.
These 2 days will be at leisure to relax or explore as you like. All meals and overnight will be at Recommended Accommodation. This resort is protected by a coral reef and set along the white sand, palm-fringed beach offering views of the Indian Ocean.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Zanzibar airport for your departure (this will depend on your departure time).
We've booked a safary and a Kilimandscharo treck with Exsembles Explores Adventure. Both trips were unforgetable and intense experiences. The organisation was smooth. We had a pick up from the airport and stayed in the Pili Pili hostel before and after the trip.
Great experience. Good guides and Cook! Guides communicate by radio, when animals are seen somewhere. So there's have a better chance too find them. Like this we have seen the big five and all cats. It was a great trip!
We had a group hiking to the top of Africa via marangu route for 6 days with 2gether 2africa Safaris.
It was a lovely experienced that we experienced in our entire life. I would definetly recommend this tour operators if your on a budget and if you do wanna do a solo or couples, they will treat you well and give you anything ASAP
This is my first review for 2gether2africa. We booked both a safari and Kilimanjaro so I will seperate them out as they were two different experiences. We booked a safari for 4 days and 3 nights which included lodge based stays in the Simba Lodge, Tarangire, Kati Kati Lodge in the Serengeti and finally the Rhino Lodge in the Ngorongo crater. We would of loved more time on safari but this was all we had. Initial communication was good with the company (Mike)
With 2gether 2africa safaris we booked two trips, hiking Mt. Meru (3 days) and safari trip (3 days, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti). We had two amazing and completely different experiences. Mt. Meru was adventurous and a bit challenging with glorious and rewarding feeling when we reached the summit. Safari was more relaxed and easy going with our eyes all the time wide open to see as much wild animals as possible (and we were lucky with that).
and my friends we did a little hiking to the top of Mount MERU last week with 2gether 2africa Safaris and we had an exceptional experience through the whole hiking trip
We gotta admit it was a little bit challenging with a lot of fun and cool views on the way from the beginning to the end. On the way to the starting point we did pass through the Arusha National park and saw some wild animals like the giraffe, buffaloes, huge elephant that was stuck on the way and had to way for like 20 minutes for it to pass and the wild boar they are in form of pigs, our guide told us are the wild pigs.
We went on a 15 day trip on Serengeti, Manyara, Ngorongoro and Tarangire with 2gether Safaris which was the most beautiful experience we ever heard in our life.We did enjoy everything including the warm welcome from Kilimanjaro airport to the end of the trip. We saw big cats, enjoyed the meal from our great chef, and also from our professional guide, Mike, who had answers to all of our questions from the beginning to the end.
We went with 2gether2africa on a 3 day trip to Sipi Falls in Uganda. We were amazed by the beautiful green nature of the area and how peaceful it is. The guys at 2gether2africa were super accommodating and were there to provide for all of our needs. We were impressed by their wealth of knowledge and their warm hospitality on our trip. They were very professional and had really thought through everything we needed for the trip so it ran very smoothly and was exactly what we wanted in our holiday. We would definitely take a trip with them again. Thanks guys!
We booked safari trip with 2gether 2africa safaris and had amazing experience. We visited Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater and were lucky to see all the animals we were hoping for. Our guide was really helpful, trying all the time that we see as much as possible. He also taught us so much about animals, african culture and swahili language. And chef was also great, preparing for us delicious food and by request vegetarian. Only one problem, it was too much food :).
I went on the africa through eyes tour with Mike, and had a truly extraordinary experience. The accommodations where excellent, starting before the safari itself. Mike organized our hotel and our drive there, helping us navigate every step of the way. The safari itself was awesome, with great guides who knew the answers to all our questions and had great English. The chef who prepared tasty vegetarian food at our request and somehow managed to cook great food in the camping grounds. The staff went above and beyond so that we would get the most of our stay and see all there is to see. Above all was the connection we had with them. It honestly felt like we were all old friends, whether it was joking around in the car or hanging out at the campsite. I would never have imagined that my safari would be such a unique experience. There is honestly not a bad thing for me to say, simply book this tour and let mike blow your mind.
I went on a 4 day safari to Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater with 2gether 2africa. I don’t have one complaint to write about. It was clear that the Godfrey Leonard Richard (Mike) put a lot of time and effort into planning our safari. Our guide, Suliman, was extremely knowledgeable and took time to explain about any animal we saw or asked about. Our chef (we called him the president) energized us and always left us happy with the food. He also had no issue catering vegetarian for me. In the evenings we all hung out and all the staff added greatly to the atmosphere. I quickly learned that being with nice, knowledgeable and friendly makes all the difference for the time between seeing animals. All in all, 2gether 2africa exceeded all of our expectations. Its a perfect choice for both families and backpackers. The thing that stood out the most was the connection we had with the staff, who proved that this was so much more than a business transaction.
Finally we got the adventure we were waiting for our entire life to see Africa Savanna. We had smooth conversation from the beginning with 2gether 2africa Safaris till the end. The campsite and lodges was well planned and organized as we requested.
We booked 7 day tour to Serengeti, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Walking tour to the Highlands of Ngorongoro. In our first night we stayed at Karatu Simba Lodge which was amazingly to see the sunset, we also stayed to the amazing Serengeti Simba Lodge.
Our Guide Steven was the most part of making things great! He was knowlegable about the Wildlife and he got eyes like Cheetah to spot where the animals are hiding. He knows exactly where to go and to find the animals.
My two friends and I went on a three day trip with Leo. We are all 21 years and, and it fits us perfectly, highly recommended for other backpackers, families and couples.
The two first days we went on safari in Mikumi nationalpark just a few hours outside Dar es Salam. Tanzanian trafic police with their pointy hats and nice uniforms are fast to stop you on their traffic stops each 15 kilometers, but charismatic Leo was very used to this and knew exactly how to handle the situation.
Choose your dates, choose your travel package, and choose your comfort level. We do the rest. Let’s start planning your Tailor-Made journey.
