Kilimanjaro Gear List
If climbing Kilimanjaro is a priority then you should be aware of a few facts before embarking on a feat of personal accomplishment that can have all the significant signs of making a profound impact. First up, Kilimanjaro is not a climb, it’s a trek and a challenging one at that. And challenges are negotiated with careful thought and preparation. That includes your packing list. Pack everything you really need as weight management is essential. The porters accompanying you will only carry a load of 15 kilos, no more than that. On Kilimanjaro, you will need a Large Duffel bag (33lb or 16kg) to carry most of your luggage items.
Non-disposable water bottles or a camelback– Hydration is important when negotiating high altitudes.
Hiking poles– For balance and leverage on the steep trails laden with grit and scree.
Portable Charger– For charging your smartphones and flashlights on the week-long hike
Headlamp/Flashlights – Extremely useful and necessary tool when navigating in low visibility
